Why there is no peer median
A score like this normally arrives beside two more numbers: a peer median and a top quartile. They are the most decision-relevant figures on the page, and they are the ones a reader repeats to a board.
We do not have peers. Producing a median from no respondents would be a fabricated number in the position of maximum influence, which is worse than producing nothing. Before a peer column appears here there has to be a real population of respondents, with the sample size and the methodology visible. When that exists, it will appear with the n shown.
What the table does carry is published reference points — external statistics with their source linked. Those describe a different population. They are useful context and they are not "people like you", and conflating the two would be the same fabrication in a quieter voice.
Why the weakest dimension sets the score
Averaging lets a strong dimension conceal a fatal one. An organisation with excellent delivery automation and no data ownership does not have a mid-range problem; it has a data ownership problem that will stop everything downstream of it. The index reports the average too, so you can see the gap between them — a wide gap is itself the finding.
What this does not ask about
It deliberately does not re-ask anything another tool here already owns. Answer for today, not for the plan
Pick the level that describes what is true now. A plan is not a level, and an assessment answered aspirationally produces a number that is useless in exactly the situation you built it for. Unanswered questions are excluded rather than scored as zero, because zero asserts the capability is absent and we have no basis for that.
